Emily Bandoni

Director, Wealth Advisor and Financial Planner

CFP®

Emily brings a relationship-first approach to financial planning. She believes the best planning comes from really knowing someone, their goals, their worries, and what they want their money to make possible. As Director, Wealth Advisor and Financial Planner at Gainline, she helps clients understand the full picture of their finances and make confident decisions about their future. A CFP® professional with six years in the industry, Emily came to finance from an unexpected place, the classroom. She spent four years teaching high school math in Boston, where she saw how little her students were taught about money and how much it would shape their lives, and that gap is what drew her to this work.

Get to know Emily

Where are you from?

I grew up in Vail, and my parents still live in Eagle County. Today I live in Golden at the base of North Table Mountain with my fiancé and our two cats, Darth Vader and Princess Padmé. I’m very close with my family (my parents, sister, brother-in-law, and new nephew), so we spend a lot of time together in Louisville.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

In the winter I love skiing. My fiancé is a moguls coach, so we get out on the mountain together whenever he isn’t coaching. In the summer we mountain bike, and living at the base of North Table means the trails are right out the door. I also spend a lot of time on fitness and nutrition – I’m currently taking an online course on nutrition for exercise.

What’s your approach to financial planning?

I want clients to see me as a true resource. My job is to help people understand their options and connect their money to the life they’re trying to build. I want clients to be able to make decisions with confidence instead of stress.

What’s something most people wouldn’t expect about you?

I used to teach high school math in an inner-city school in Boston. What pushed me toward finance was seeing how little financial literacy my students were given, and wanting to help bridge that gap.

Who do you love working with?

I love working with people who want a real relationship with their advisor, the kind where you actually know each other. Coming from a big firm, that smaller, more personal way of working is exactly what drew me to Gainline.

What’s one value that drives your work?

Trust. I believe it is the foundation of any meaningful relationship. Financial planning is deeply personal, and it requires that strong foundation.
