Charlie is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), primarily working with high net-worth families and business executives. As a CFP® professional, Charlie has extensive knowledge in retirement planning, estate planning strategies, tax planning strategies, investment planning, and insurance and risk management. In his pursuit of holistic wealth management, Charlie has also achieved other specialized education and designations including Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSMTM(AWMA®), focused on estate and executive benefits planning for high net-worth clients and business owners. He immediately started working in financial services after graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.With an emphasis on approachability and relationship-building, Charlie values a trusting relationship with each client. He is committed to working with clients to advance towards their goals and live life on their terms.
Charlie lives in Denver with his wife Maria and two dogs, Winston & Jamie. He enjoys being outdoors, golfing, traveling frequently, and attending CU sporting events. A lifelong Buff, he currently serves on the Executive Committee of the CU-Boulder Alumni Association Board of Advisors. While attending CU, Charlie was the President and played back row for the nationally ranked CU Men’s Rugby Club and continues to be actively involved in the rugby community.

A graduate of the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado. Paul has called Colorado his home for almost two decades. Outside of work, you can find Paul traveling with his wife Joanna, daughter Bailey, and son Connor, as well as playing rugby, skiing, and golfing. A strong believer in giving back to his community, Paul has been the Captain, President and Vice President of the Boulder Rugby Football Club for over 10 years.
Casey Wesson brings more than a decade of experience working with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, executives, and families. She is passionate about helping people who are intentional and deliberate about building their wealth. Casey believes in more than just delivering financial results; she values the relationships she builds with her clients and is dedicated to guiding them through the entirety of their financial journeys. Her approach is personal, aiming to be a trusted partner in achieving each client’s unique goals.
Casey holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Colorado Boulder and is currently back at CU Boulder completing her MBA (go Buffs!). A lifelong athlete, Casey has competed in Ironman races for the past decade and has a passion for all things endurance sports. In her free time, you’ll often find her running the trails of Chautauqua or gravel biking around Boulder. She also enjoys traveling and exploring new places with her loved ones and friends. Casey lives in Louisville with her husband, Matt, and their dog daughter, Oakley. Her commitment to living an active, purposeful life inspires her to guide clients toward financial strategies that support their own passions and aspirations.
Claudia has over 40 years of experience in wealth management. She works with high- net-worth individuals, institutions, endowments, and charitable institutions. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER” professional, Claudia has extensive knowledge in investment planning, insurance and risk management, tax planning strategies, retirement planning and estate planning strategies. She serves as a Managing Director of Gainline Financial Partners.
Claudia works with clients to identify their values, goals and aspirations, and then builds a customized wealth management plan in line with those objectives. She firmly believes in creating client relationships based on respect, trust and integrity. Claudia views Gainline Financial Partners as a well-integrated team: each member brings different skills and strengths to the overall goal of helping clients advance towards their goals and live life on their terms.
A long time resident of Boulder, Claudia has a long history of serving the community, including leadership and board positions with Community Food Share, Colorado Therapeutic Riding and Boulder Valley Dressage. She is currently on the Board of Guide Dogs For the Blind, the largest Guide Dog school in North America. In addition to being on the Board, she is a volunteer puppy raiser and is currently raising her 9th puppy, Zander, a male Golden Retriever.
Sonya joined the team in 2018 with extensive experience in the financial services industry, including holding her Series 7 and Series 66 registrations. She is Gainline Financial Partners’ Operations Manager.
Sonya is responsible for overseeing business operations and compliance while also providing general service to clients. She prides herself on staying up to date with technology and Gainline practices to ensure clients consistently receive the highest level of service Originally from Vermont, Sonya loves being outdoors and enjoying the mountains of Colorado. Outside of work, you can find her riding her bike or weather permitting on the water paddle boarding. She is also committed to helping local dog rescue organizations, including fostering shelter puppies until they find their forever homes.
Lisa Kohlbrenner joined Gainline as a Client Service Associate in February 2024, bringing a wealth of experience from her previous roles in journalism and communications.
Prior to joining Gainline, Lisa served as a Public Information Officer and Data Integrity Specialist at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, where she honed her skills in managing critical information and ensuring accuracy. Her career began in print and television news, where she spent over a decade as an Assignment Editor at various local stations, demonstrating her adeptness in high-pressure environments and her commitment to delivering timely and accurate news.
At Gainline, Lisa is dedicated to providing exceptional service and personalized support to our clients, leveraging her background in data management and communications to enhance client interactions and ensure their needs are met with the utmost professionalism.
A native Floridian, Lisa relocated to Colorado in 2015 to be closer to family. She holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Florida and proudly supports the Gators. In her free time, Lisa enjoys cooking, baking, swimming, traveling, and reading. She resides in Westminster and looks forward to contributing to the Gainline team and serving our clients with excellence.
With over 20 years of wealth management experience, John leverages his extensive background in mathematics to serve as the group’s chief “number cruncher”. He earned his Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) certification through the Wharton School of Business. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Regis College, and a Master of Science in mathematics from Colorado School of Mines.
John is responsible for portfolio analysis, asset allocation analysis, investment due diligence and performance review. He provides clients with a professional, prudent and disciplined investment advisory process to help assist them achieve their goals.
A long time rugby enthusiast, John began playing in high school and continues as an active player and member of the Boulder Rugby Football Club – his dedication to the rugby community is evidenced by Boulder Rugby Football Club naming the annual Most Valuable Club Member award in his honor. He has also been on the board of Rugby Colorado, a member of the United States Rugby Congress, a Course Leader for the USA Rugby Coach Development program, and head coach of the local youth and high school team. John also enjoys golf, travel, and cooking.
